  • There must be some advantage to us in the latter circumstances, even if we are not conscious of it, from a traditional standpoint, even if we are not aware of it.
  • However, it appears that these ideas fall short of explaining the whole breadth and depth of human generosity.
  • Altruism is frequently quick and spontaneous, particularly in times of crisis, as if it were a deeply natural response to the circumstance.
  • It has something to do with empathy.

In light of the fact that we share fundamental awareness with other species, it is also conceivable for us to feel empathy for – and to act altruistically towards – them.

When we have interactions with fundamental awareness, I believe that we are sensing its existence in everything around us, including our own selves, at that time.

A similar problem exists in conventional science in explaining the profound influence of mental purpose and belief on the body (as illustrated by the placebo effect and the pain numbing effects of hypnosis).

That would be equivalent to claiming that visuals shown on a computer screen have the ability to alter the software or hardware contained within the machine.

As a result, it has the potential to change the way the body functions.

There is another ocean, one that is significantly bigger in size than the physical oceans of our planet. In comparison to the oceans, it is an ocean that is significantly more permanent. A pleasant ocean that not only provides delightful waters to wash the body but also delicious waters to replenish the spirit is what we have.

It is hidden within you, just waiting to be found.

What is Spiritual Consciousness?

Before we explore how to access our spiritual awareness, let’s take a closer look at what it actually is. It is the process of being aware of our own souls and the presence of God inside us. The majority of us are conscious of our physical bodies, as well as of the ideas that move through our minds and the environment around us. Body awareness, often known as bodily consciousness, is what we are talking about here. However, we are more than our physical and mental bodies. The soul that occupies the body is what we are really made of, and we are cognizant of this fact.

It is the source of all life.

Our spiritual awareness manifests itself in the form of all-consciousness, love, peace, oneness, happiness, and freedom from fear when we are able to access this state of consciousness.

Qualities of Spiritual Consciousness

Anyone who has experienced spiritual consciousness has spoken of coming in contact with divine love. God is love, our soul being of the same essence as that of God is love, and the way back to God is through love. The ocean of spiritual consciousness is an ocean of love. It is hard for us to understand this, because we as human beings think of love in a limited and narrow sense. The love we think of as love is merely a mirror of a far greater love, a divine love. It is an all-embracing, fulfilling, satisfying love that pulls close to its heart all that exists.

It embraces everyone of us equally, it is an unconditional love that does not see our exterior distinctions.

When we tap into our spiritual consciousness, we not only experience love ourselves, but we expand in our own capacity to love others.

Whereas presently the list of individuals we love may be short, comprising simply our spouse, partner, family members, and close friends, the list will increase to cover every person in creation and even every living creature in creation.


All-awareness or knowledge is another element of spiritual consciousness that can be experienced. God is all-knowing and all-aware, and he is the creator of the universe. God is the creator of all things and is completely aware of everyone and everything. Our current primitive technology can give us a small glimpse into how this is possible, if we are willing to look beyond the obvious. We consider ourselves to be extremely advanced, but this is only a small beginning in terms of what humanity will be able to accomplish in the future.

God is analogous to a massive server that serves as a home for all of our individual souls or websites.

God is also capable of concurrently knowing everything that is happening to everyone of us at every second of every day of the year at the same time.

Freedom from Fear

Another facet of spiritual consciousness is the ability to live without the presence of fear. What is it that the majority of us are most afraid of? The majority of individuals are terrified of death. They consider death to be the culmination of their lives. Nobody seems to grasp the concept of death as anything more than a transfer from this physical world to another dimension of existence. This realization that we exist at the level of the soul even when our physical bodies are not present comes about only when we have raised our consciousness to a spiritual level.

If we can elevate our level of consciousness, we will be able to uncover our genuine selves.


Another feature of spiritual consciousness is the presence of peace. We are confronted with a great deal of instability, conflict, pain, sickness, and suffering in this life. Few people get through life without experiencing periods of stress and discomfort. All is calm, however, in the spiritual worlds that exist inside. Because of our ego and ambitions, we are unable to achieve lasting serenity in this life. There are a plethora of temptations, diversions, and attractions available in the world.

  • When it begins to want for things that are just temporary in this world, it is on the road to being disappointed.
  • It is all a whim of the moment.
  • When we place our expectations in something that is easily depleted, we are setting ourselves up for disappointment and suffering when we lose our possession.
  • In the next moments, we enter an other reality where there is neither death nor suffering nor any form of agony.

We come upon an endless zone that is filled with joy and delight. If we want to experience genuine serenity in our lives, we must first seek within ourselves for the answers. Peace starts with everyone of us.


At the most basic level of our physical existence, all we can observe are our bodily distinctions. In the process of developing a spiritual consciousness, we come to realize that the same Light of God is inside each and every person. At the level of the soul, we are all connected. When we attain that degree of consciousness, we begin to view all living beings as members of a single large family that is connected to the Creator. We no longer distinguish between people based on their physical appearance or customs.

We begin to treat all individuals with love and respect because we understand that at their very core, they have the same essence from which we were created.


Also associated with spiritual consciousness is the state of blissfulness. It is a condition of complete euphoria and happiness. Think of the highest happiness we may have on this planet. It is only a fraction of the bliss we experience when we unite with the ocean of spiritual consciousness, which is the source of all happiness. There aren’t enough words to adequately explain the happiness. We can only fathom what it would be like to magnify our greatest happiness by a million-fold with our current level of understanding.

When our focus returns to bodily consciousness, we bring that happiness with us as well.

It is analogous to a potter who molds clay.

Like the happiness we experience while joining with the ocean of spiritual consciousness is retained by us so that we can survive the choppy waters of everyday existence.

How to Attain Spiritual Consciousness

We can achieve spiritual consciousness by focusing our attention inside ourselves, which is accomplished through a practice known as meditation. The practice of meditation allows us to connect with our real nature—our soul—and find that it is one with God, who is the Source of all divine love. Then we shall discover all of the divine treasures that are available to us. We shall achieve complete consciousness. We shall discover that we are no longer plagued by dread. We shall achieve a sense of oneness with all forms of love.

Just as the ocean has always been available for people of all eras, the spiritual ocean of love has always been there for us, waiting to be discovered by us.

Higher consciousness – Wikipedia

It is the consciousness of a deity, or “the component of the human intellect that is capable of transcending animal impulses,” that is considered higher consciousness. Its origins may be traced back to the Bhagavad Gita and Indian Vedas, but it was greatly expanded in German idealism and is now a major concept in current popular spirituality, particularly the New Age movement.


Johann Gottlieb Fichte (1762–1814) was a foundational figure of German idealism, which grew from the theoretical and ethical writings of Immanuel Kant. Fichte was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and died in Vienna. George Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel’s philosophy serves as a transitional period between Kant’s views and those of the German Idealist Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. Fichte distinguished between two types of egos: the limited or empirical ego and the pure or eternal ego. It is possible to discern the action of this “pure ego” by a “higher intuition.” According to Michael Whiteman, Fichte’s philosophical theory “is a remarkable western articulation of eastern mystical teachings (of Advaita),” and “is an unique western formulation of eastern mystical teachings.”


In 1812, Arthur Schopenhauer coined the phrase “the better consciousness,” referring to a state of consciousness that “lies beyond all experience and thus all reason, both theoretical and practical (instinct),” according to Yasuo Kamata. According to Kamata, Schopenhauer’s concept of “the better consciousness” has its roots in Fichte’s concept of a “higher consciousness” (höhere Bewusstsein) or “higher intuition,” and also bears re This greater (supersensible and extra-temporal) awareness, my hope and belief is that it will become my only consciousness, and for this reason, I hope and believe that it is not the consciousness of God.

Main types

Transcendentalist groups such as Theosophy, New Thought, Christian Science, and Transcendentalism were manifestations of the notion of a “wider self walled in by the habits of ego-awareness” and the search for a “higher consciousness” in the nineteenth century. The Transcendentalists of the nineteenth century believed that the entire physical world was a symbol of a greater spiritual reality. They believed that humans were capable of rising above their animal instincts, achieving a higher level of consciousness, and participating in the spiritual realm.

Modern spirituality

The concept of “lower consciousness” and “higher consciousness” has acquired favor in contemporary popular spirituality, particularly in the Buddhist tradition. A New Age movement, according to James Beverley, is centered on this concept. By employing the concepts of “lower” and “higher consciousness,” Ken Wilber has attempted to bridge the gap between eastern and western mental representations of the mind. In his book, The Spectrum of Consciousness, Richard Feynman discusses the nature of consciousness.

Human people may connect with their own souls via meditation, personal development, and universal love, explains Sant Rajinder Singh in his article “The Soul Connection.” The world we see in front of us now is a far cry from the one we knew yesterday. The changes in our perspective of the world are far more significant than the changes brought about by technological advancements. As a result of scientific advancements, human eyesight has been expanded to include everything from the tiniest subatomic particles to the dazzling light emanating from distant quasars.

  1. Rather of believing in merely what can be perceived with the five senses, our worldview has evolved to include the recognition that there is more to life than what we can see with our physical eyes.
  2. We identify medical professionals who have reported examples of persons who have experienced near-death experiences, in which they were clinically dead but were miraculously resurrected.
  3. Raymond Moody’s book, Life After Life, records examples in which persons who have had a near-death experience have reported having comparable experiences to those described in the book.
  4. In the hospital, they could float around, frequently noticing their family in the next room and listening in on their talks.
  5. They had experienced a state of ultimate calm and contentment, and it was difficult for them to leave.
  6. As a result of the enormous number of people who have had these near-death experiences and the remarkable similarity of their accounts, physicians and scientists are finding it more difficult to dismiss the idea that we are more than our physical bodies.
  7. In accordance with the experiences of mystics throughout history, several conclusions can be drawn.

Individuals’ consciousness may be divorced from their physical bodies, and descriptions of such experiences are found in every religion, including Buddhism and Hinduism.

The ancient narrative of Savitri, whose spouse was torn away from her by death, may be found throughout Hinduism.

It is the pinnacle of human achievement that we can achieve in our lifetime.

The path to spiritual consciousness is a series of straightforward stages.

What is spiritual consciousness, and how does it manifest itself?

The majority of us are conscious of our physical bodies, as well as of the ideas that move through our minds and the environment around us.

However, we are more than our physical and mental bodies.

The soul is a portion of the Oversoul, which can be referred to as God, the Creator, Allah, Wah-i-Guru, or Parmatma in various traditions.

The soul is responsible for bringing life to the body.

The soul, on the other hand, does not die.

In the same way that persons who have died clinically have experienced a continuous life outside of their bodies, everyone of us will continue to exist even after the death of our physical bodies.

We don’t have to wait until our bodily death to experience what it’s like to perceive life from the perspective of the soul.

We have read in the scriptures of numerous religions about persons who had had spiritual experiences and were able to communicate with God.

7 LEVELS OF CONSCIOUSNESS: Know the potential of your mind

Spiritual consciousness: Are you really awake?

A hilarious comment was made, “Consciousness is that irritating interval between sleeps,” as said by someone. If you’re as old as I am, you’re probably in agreement that having more time for naps would be wonderful for everyone. The majority of us require more sleep than we now receive. Let us consider the significance of awareness, or being “awake,” for our lives for a moment. Not in the physical sense, but in the mental and spiritual sense. If we want to be successful in life, we must be alert, aware, and attentive at all times, among other qualities.

  1. The pursuit of excellence, no matter what the assignment, is the way we should conduct our lives.
  2. If we want to be the best version of ourselves, we must be aware of both the opportunities and the risks that await us.

Spirituality is a brain state we can all reach, religious or not

Spirit-filled experiences are characterized by William James, the founding father of Western psychology, in 1902 as states of higher consciousness that are caused by attempts to comprehend universal principles or the structure of the universe via one’s inner experience. One of the major concepts in his spiritual philosophy is what we may term ‘connectedness.’ This concept is based on the idea that individual goals can only be fully realized when they are considered in the context of the whole – one’s connection with the environment and with others.

The existence of this higher level of awareness and connection has been described in many spiritual traditions, from Buddhism to Sufism, Judaism to Christianity and many other religious traditions as well.

Scientific and artistic epiphanies, as well as the euphoric states that precede them and are characterized by a sense of oneness and happiness, are comparable to religious experiences in that both involve a higher degree of present and observation than is normally experienced.

However, these do not have to be one-of-a-kind events available only to a select few.

As the Nobel laureate and poet Czeslaw Miosz phrased it: ‘Description necessitates intensive observation, so intense that the veil of everyday habit is lifted and what we had previously overlooked because it appeared so common is exposed as amazing.’ I’m a neurologist, and one of my research interests is the way spiritual moods manifest themselves in the brain and other regions of the body, among other things.

Self-awareness, empathy, and a sense of belonging have all been demonstrated to be associated with spiritual activities, and the frequency of brainwaves recorded by an electroencephalogram has been shown to be correlated with these qualities (EEG).

Expert meditators, on the other hand, exhibit higher ‘harmonious’ brain waves, which may be suggestive of increased synchronization or connection within and across distinct neural regions.

More to the point, research shows that we can do more with this type of activity than simply monitor it.

It has been discovered that practicing diverse contemplative paradigms, such as meditation and prayer, leads to increased synchronisation — envision a huge group of brain cells singing together – in the brain (creating, as it were, slower ocean waves, now growing calmer and calmer).

This means that we may achieve a condition in which the brain operates in a more congruent manner and takes a more global viewpoint.

Neuronal synchronisation is also associated with a sense of being more self-connected, which can lead to an increase in empathy, creativity, and social effectiveness as a result of this.

According to Tasha Eurich, a psychologist and author of Insight(2017), increased self-awareness leads to higher confidence, better decisions, healthier relationships, and more effective communication, according to a 2018 article published in the Harvard Business Review.

By transcending our immediate surroundings, we may live a more “rounded” existence, shifting our attention away from fundamental needs and concerns and toward ideals.

Another point of view is that scientific investigation of such experiences may uncover the processes that allow us all to acquire these moods even in the most ordinary situations, such as while sitting in traffic.

Simply said, I’ve witnessed firsthand how spirituality can be experienced in a laboratory setting!

The majority of my research over the past two decades has been tied to a movement meditation technique called Quadrato Motor Training (QMT), which requires both coordination and awareness on the part of the practitioner.

When practicing QMT, it is necessary for the participant to be actively aware of both the inner and outside “worlds” at the same time, in order to establish a connection between the “external” world and the inner realm.

For example, when most people think of a plain glass, they will automatically identify it with the act of drinking it.

EEG measurements revealed that the greater cognitive flexibility associated with QMT training was also accompanied with higher brain synchronisation of the type previously linked with relaxation, attentiveness and being in a flow state, according to the researchers.

What else contributes to the production of neuronal synchronization?

This is startling.

In addition to finding Paoletti’s Sphere Model of Consciousness valuable in my neuroscience study, I also use it as a practical instrument for self-observation, which I find to be quite beneficial.

Is your initial instinct to become enraged and start running after them, putting yourself and others in danger?

While the former choice requires engaging a more mature, present part of ourselves in the current once-in-a-lifetime moment, the later option includes being totally engaged to the experience of the sights, sounds, and fragrances.

In contrast, each time we respond involuntarily, we are no longer rooted in our center but are instead dominated by a more automatic state that we have not chosen, and as a result, we are less connected both inside ourselves and to the larger good.

We all lose our way from time to time, but we can reduce the frequency with which we do so by regularly reconnecting with our best selves and with one another.

‘Mom, I know how to meditate,’ my inquisitive 17-year-old daughter informed me.

The means to get there are already in place; all that remains is for you to keep ascending.

We can all train and monitor our spirituality using easy, non-invasive ways, which will allow us to live more vibrantly as a result.
